UGC NET 2023: Notification, Exam Dates, Registration & Syllabus
UGC NET exam date for June 2023 cycle has been announced by University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar. The exam for the June 2023 cycle will be conducted from June 13 to 22, 2023. Earlier on December 29, NTA announced the dates for the UGC NET December 2022 cycle. The exam is scheduled to conducted from February 21 and March 10, 2023. Candidates can apply for the UGC NET exam from December 29, 2022, to January 17, 2023. The notification for the UGC NET 2023 exam has been released as a PDF. The candidates can download the PDF for their ease from the official website- ugcnet.nta.nic.in. The UGC has released the notification for all 83 subjects for the December 2022 cycle.
What is UGC NET 2023?
University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) or NTA UGC NET is a national-level exam conducted in order to determine the eligibility of candidates for only Assistant Professor or both Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor posts in Indian universities and colleges. The UGC NET 2023 exam will be held for a total of 83 subjects. Until 2021, the NTA UGC NET exam was conducted the 81 subjects. The UGC NET syllabus differs for all the 83 subjects and is prescribed by the University Grants Commission itself.
The UGC NET examination is conducted twice every year- once in June and once in December. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted exam frequency. Since 2021, the UGC NET exam is being held only once a year for the merged cycles of June and December.
